The Process

Guiding Clients Every Step of the Way

On-site Painting Procedure.

  • Preparation/Masking: We tape off the walls, ceiling and flooring, and cover the countertops and backsplash with 3M Advanced masking film and rosin paper. Wrap appliances and the vent hood with plastic sheeting or masking paper. All exposed areas will be covered and secured from over-spray.

  • Painting Procedure: We apply 2 coats of primer and then let dry properly. After drying for a few hours, cabinet bones will be sanded in order to remove any raised grain or debris and to ensure for a smooth finish. We then wipe down properly with a clean damp rag and tack cloth. Finally, 2-3 coats of Lacquer will be applied to ensure proper and even coverage. Once completed a proper cleaning of your kitchen will be done.

  • Installation of doors and drawers: This is the final step. Once the job is completed we will come back to re-install and re-align your cabinet doors and drawers.

Cabinets Doors Painting Procedure.

  • Clean all cabinets:  We start by first picking up the doors and drawers and bringing them back to the shop. Then, we clean off years of kitchen grease with a special degreaser . This would ensure that the primer and paint (Lacquer) would adhere properly.

  • Repair problem spots & Sand: Firstly, we sand any damaged areas on the doors with 320-grit sandpaper to remove burrs or ridges, and then we fill the areas with spackling compound. Let it dry and then we sand properly. We ensure that all scratches and dings are fixed.

  • Prime the cabinets: Next we prime the doors with a stain-blocking primer. Prime one side of all the doors, let them dry properly and then prime the other side.

  • Sand smooth: The primed doors are then sanded with fine-grit sandpaper. Then we wipe the surface clean with a tack cloth.

  • Apply the paint (Lacquer): Finally, 2-3 coats of lacquer are applied to ensure proper and even coverage, with sanding between the applications if necessary. We use BENJAMIN MOORE  or SHERWIN WILLIAMS lacquer, a high quality, and durable waterborne, low VOC product suitable for the high-performance needs in a high traffic kitchen. The resulting hard resilient finish will impress you. Upon completion, cabinets are secured in a durable foam wrap, delivered free of charge and reinstalled.
